Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at kelly.white@thoughtfultravel.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Absolutely! At Thoughtful Travel,  we’re proud to be a member of Protected Trust Services (PTS).

PTS is a financial protection scheme that offers consumers a high level of security when booking a holiday. As a member of PTS, Thoughtful Travel holds all customer funds in a trust account until the holiday has been completed. This ensures that your money is fully protected, and in the unlikely event of insolvency, your money is safe and can be refunded or redirected to another holiday provider.

When you book through a PTS member, you can be certain that your payment is held securely, and if something were to happen to the agency, your booking and your money are protected by law.

The deposit amount depends on a few factors:

  • Tour operators – Each sets their own deposit requirements.

  • Flights – Most airlines require full payment at the time of booking.

  • Tailor-made packages – The flight portion may need to be paid in full, plus an additional deposit for accommodation or extras.

  • Holiday extras & non-refundable rooms – These usually need to be paid in full at the time of booking.

If you need flexibility, we'll always ask the supplier if they can offer a low-cost deposit option, though this isn’t always guaranteed.

👉 Please note: if you book close to your departure date, the full balance will usually be due at the time of booking.

Yes — paying in instalments is a great way to budget for your holiday. The easiest way is by flexible payments. You can contact us any time to request a secure payment link and make an additional payment whenever it suits you.
This will spread the cost of your holiday, making it more manageable and stress-free.

Yes — travel insurance is essential and forms part of your contract with us. Your policy must cover your needs, including any pre-existing medical conditions or disabilities, and be valid for the full duration of your trip. If you already have an annual policy, make sure it’s updated if your circumstances have changed.

For peace of mind, you can purchase travel insurance directly through Thoughtful Travel.

⚠️ Please don’t travel in the UK or abroad without adequate cover. If you choose not to take out insurance, Thoughtful Travel cannot be held responsible should a situation arise where you would have needed to make a claim.
